This genre exploded onto the scene in 1996 with the publication of Bridget Jones's Diary. Since then, countless authors have entertained us with stories of hip single women in their late '20s or early '30s, who are struggling to close the gap between the fabulous life they desire and the not-so glamorous life they are currently living. More recent offerings have branched out to include married women and mothers, who are just as sassy and stylish as their single counterparts and who are finding out, with hilarious results, that only fairy tales end in "And they lived happily ever after".
