Public Service Librarian (Passports)

The Henderson County Public Library seeks an organized, motivated, and friendly candidate for the position of Public Service Librarian (Passports). This person will serve as the library liaison to patrons, work with staff to create and implement services, and assist the Passport Program Manager and agent(s) in conducting full-service passport service at the library. The successful candidate will have a passion for people and possess a spirit of compassion and enthusiasm. This position is 40 hours per week and requires days, nights and a weekend rotation. This position also interacts extensively with the public and other staff members.

The Henderson County Public Library seeks a motivated individual who is interested in joining its team! Primary responsibilities include returning library materials to their proper place in the library, reading the shelves, and interacting with the public and staff.

Applicant must be a minimum of 16 years of age and able to communicate effectively and follow written and oral instructions. Applicant must be able to lift and carry books up to 10 pounds on a regular basis; move heavy rolling carts; stoop, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods of time.

Excellent people skills required. Applicant must be able to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends. This is a part-time position working 10 - 20 hours per week. The starting salary is $8.00 per hour. Please review the full job description in PDF format.
