Welcome to the Bureau of Land Management(BLM), General Land Office (GLO) Records Automation web site. We provide live access to Federal land conveyance records for the Public Land States, including image access to more than five million Federal land title records issued between 1788 and the present. Henderson County, Kentucky USGenWeb Census Project
In December 1778, through the influence of Colonel Richard Henderson and Nathaniel Hart, the Virginia House of Delegates granted to the Richard Henderson (Transylvania) Company, 200,000 acres of land in Kentucky situated between the Ohio and Green Rivers. In 1783, the North Carolina legislature granted the same to the company. The result being that Henderson County was formed out of part Christian County and was organized on June 4, 1799.

The Genealogy Collection has developed over time to become one of the largest collections of family history information in the Midwest. In March and April 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database Project. The idea, originated by Jeff Murphy, was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index. This pilot project became known as KYGenWeb.
